Gardeners, get ready: there are a couple of new beauties in town and they will be at the Flamborough Horticultural Society's annual plant sale in May.

In addition to a great selection of the tried-and-true plants taken from the group members' own gardens, Jeana, a new garden phlox, and Miniskirts hostas will be available.

Jeana is a new cultivar and it is the Perennial of the Year for 2024. Attractive to bees and pollinators, and resistant to mildew, it is a great addition to any garden.

And who can resist a new hosta — especially one called Miniskirts? A small beauty, it has thick and wavy leaves, giving it a flirtatious air.

These new plants, and many others, will be featured at the Flamborough Horticultural Society Spring Plant Sale The popular event has two dates: the Early Bird Sale is on Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to  12:30 p.m. at 2 Flanders Drive, Waterdown.

The regular sale will be held during the Watedown Farmers Market at the Legion (79 Hamilton Street N.) on Saturday, May 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
