Bob Seger fans, it’s time to take those old records off the shelf.

On April 23, legendary tribute band Against the Wind: The Ultimate Bob Seger Experience, is heading to Hamilton for a concert supporting Diabetes Canada.

For years, Against the Wind has thrilled fans with their gritty "Heartland Rock" performances that capture the energy of Bob Seger's raw, soulful sound. Led by vocalist Ty Wilson, whose authentic portrayal of Seger's raspy growl will leave you spellbound, this all-star band delivers heartfelt renditions of every classic that made Seger a household name.

When it comes to rocking the stage, Ty is no stranger in town. He signed his first record deal at 16 years old, and his second at 22. He has spent years as a journeyman musician, playing bars and small clubs across Canada. From Toronto’s premier music venue The Opera House, to busking on the streets of Victoria B.C., Ty has learnt how to connect with his audience and bandmates.

And now, following a series of sell-out shows on both sides of the border, Against the Wind is ready to take Hamilton on a rock’n’roll journey through Seger’s decades-long career.

At McIntyre Performing Arts Centre at Mohawk College on April 23, Against the Wind is sure to roll out all the old hits: Seger has been electrifying fans since the late 60s with Top-10 singles like “Old Time Rock and Roll”, “Night Moves”, “Hollywood Nights” and “We’ve Got Tonight”.

His classic album “Against the Wind” even won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a group in 1980.

From high-energy anthems to iconic ballads that serve as the soundtrack to countless memories, Against the Wind's concerts are nothing short of mesmerizing. Whether you're a lifelong fan of Seger and his Silver Bullet Band or brand new to his music, this is a musical journey you won't soon forget.

When you buy a ticket to Against The Wind, you're not just treating yourself to a night of incredible music — you're also supporting a worthy cause.
Against the Wind is proud to partner with Diabetes Canada, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and helping Canadians deal with one of the most prevalent diseases in the country.

Battling diabetes is a constant challenge, as it impacts 11.5 million Canadians, with one in three individuals affected. It’s a serious threat – another Canadian is diagnosed with diabetes every three minutes.

There are three major types of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the most common diagnosis, followed by type 1 diabetes. Gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy, and is usually temporary. In addition, prediabetes is another important diagnosis that indicates an elevated risk of developing diabetes.

People with type 1 diabetes aren't able to produce their own insulin (and can't regulate their blood sugar) because their body is attacking the pancreas. Roughly 10 per cent of people living with diabetes have type 1, insulin-dependent diabetes.

People with type 2 diabetes can't properly use the insulin made by their bodies, or their bodies aren't able to produce enough insulin. Roughly 90 per cent of people living with diabetes have type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes is most commonly developed in adulthood, although it can also occur in childhood. Type 2 diabetes can sometimes be managed with healthy eating and regular exercise alone, but may also require medications or insulin therapy.

The proceeds from this event are a meaningful contribution to Diabetes Canada's mission. This mission extends beyond the events on stage – it's a commitment to lead the fight against diabetes. By supporting this cause, you directly contribute to Diabetes Canada's efforts to help individuals with diabetes live healthy lives while they tirelessly work towards finding a cure.

The event is not only a musical trip down memory lane, but also a chance for the community to rally around a cause that touches the lives of one in three Canadians.

By attending the fundraiser, you’ll not only enjoy an evening of musical hits, but also contribute to the well-being of your community.
