If you like your hockey action live and local, the Allan Cup Challenge is underway at the J L Girghtmire Arena in Dundas.
The four-team Senior AAA playoff tourney for Canada's oldest national hockey championship kicked off Saturday night (April 20), with the hometown Dundas Real McCoys defeating Newfoundland and Labrador's Southern Shore Breakers, 3-2.
Alberta's Innisfail Eagles take on the 2023 Robertson Cup and league champs Stoney Creek Tigers (formerly the Hamilton Steelers) tonight (April 21) - puck drop is 7:30 p.m.
The Real McCoys next take the ice again on April 22 against the Innisfail Eagles before winding up round-robin play against the Tigers on Wednesday.
The Allan Cup semifinal takes place Friday at 7:30 p.m., and the final is on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m. Friday's game will be broadcast live by Cable 14, and the final will be broadcast live on CHCH TV, with legendary broadcaster Rod Black and former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Rick Vaive in the booth.
