Waterdown families flock to Flora's Walk

This year's event was one of 60 across Canada to raise awareness of perinatal mental health care

Flamborough families banded together to raise funds and awareness for perinatal mental health care supports this weekend.

Lotus Counselling organized the local edition of Flora's Walk at Joe Sams Leisure Park, one of 60 events taking place across Canada this weekend. They far surpassed their goal of $5,000, with more than $7,000 in donations by the start of the walk.

The funds will be used to provide affordable - or no cost - health care supports for families in Flamborough, with 25 per cent of proceeds going to support efforts to create a national perinatal mental health care strategy.
