MacAskill Kamta Gibbs, 6, took a turn behind the wheel of the Dave Connelly's no. 62 race car during the Guy B. Brown fundraiser Tuesday at Fortinos.

Local families had a chance to get behind the wheel of a real race car at Guy B. Brown Public School's latest fundraiser.

The Braeheid Avenue school teamed up with the Waterdown Fortinos to raise money to support graduating class activities on Tuesday evening. Parents organized a bake sale and barbecue, with food donated by Fortinos, But the big draw was the No. 62 race car, which was accompanied by driver Dave Connelly and members of the Fuel For Kids team.

Fuel Fuel for Kids is a program that Dave Connelly started in 2005 to support elementary schools in Ontario. This program has been running with grocery stores across Ontario for almost 20 years and is available through Fortinos stores in the Hamilton and Halton regions.
