After a historic fundraising campaign season, raising $12.5M for the community, United Way Halton & Hamilton is looking forward to beginning a new stage in
efforts to grow the network of social supports for our community. United Way is delighted to share that Claude DeMone will be the 2024-2025 Campaign Cabinet Chair. Claude enters this role following 2023-2024 Campaign Cabinet Chair, Matt Wickham.

Claude's tenure with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) spans more than 30 years. As the Regional President of RBC’s Southwestern Ontario region, Claude leads a team of nearly 3,000 personal and commercial bankers, partners, and support teams. He is a long-time United Way supporter and served as a United Way Campaign Cabinet volunteer this past year. Claude also co-chaired RBC's Employee Giving Campaign across Canada in 2021 and 2022.

Active in his community, Claude also supports the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Autism Canada, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He fosters RBC’s commitment to helping communities prosper, which includes support for more than 150 community partners across Southwestern Ontario.

As a champion for inclusion, he mentors a variety of RBC groups such as Women in Technology and Operations (WiTO), Diversity Dialogues, the i-Care employee resource group in Canada dedicated to caregivers, and Blood for Life – an employee-led coalition of donors and champions supporting Canada’s lifeline.

“I’m very grateful to Matt for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the Campaign Cabinet during last year's campaign. His guidance has set a strong foundation, and I’m eager to build on the momentum he has created,” says DeMone. “As we look ahead, I recognize the significant work that lies ahead of us. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work closely with our dedicated volunteers on the Campaign Cabinets and Committees to continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in Halton and Hamilton.”

United Way is also thrilled to share that the Major Giving Cabinet will continue its work in the community with the leadership of Trent Ogilvie in the 2024-25 campaign season. As Chair of the Major Giving Cabinet, Trent has been instrumental in rallying community members to support the inaugural Local Love Community Match initiative. His dedication to connecting generous supporters with United Way's mission ensures that those most vulnerable have access to essential programs and services.

“I am incredibly proud of the work done by the 2023-2024 Major Giving Cabinet. Together, we successfully rallied philanthropists in the community to help increase support to the vital programs helping our community,” states Ogilvie. Continuing in this role for the upcoming fundraising campaign, I am even more motivated by the success of our previous efforts. With the support of the Major Giving Cabinet, we will continue to delve deeper to ensure no one in our community is left behind. Our collective spirit, along with impactful initiatives like the Local Love Community Match, will drive us to make a lasting difference for those who need it most.

After retiring from his role as President of Rockwool North America, where Trent and the team participated in numerous successful workplace campaigns, he joined United Way Halton & Hamilton in a volunteer capacity. Trent's dedication to improving lives in his local community runs deep, as he has held roles on the Campaign Cabinet, Finance & Audit Committee, Board Member and returning for his 4th year as Major Giving Cabinet Chair.

“Claude and Trent's leadership in the Campaign and Major Giving Cabinets this year signifies a powerhouse of strength for their respective Cabinets as United Way embarks on another impactful year across Halton & Hamilton,” says Brad Park, President and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton. “Their unwavering commitment to our community and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others, exemplifies true leadership. With leaders like them, I am confident in our ability to make an even deeper impact this year as we continue our mission.”
